His breakthrough came later that year when he worked with producer Byg Byrd on the collaborative single 'So High,' which capitalized on the rising South Asian gangsta rap movement. He moved to Canada in 2016 and released his debut single, 'G Wagon,' in 2017. Hailing from the city of Moosa in Mansa, Punjab, Wala began writing lyrics while studying for an electrical engineering degree in India. Punjab singer and lyricist Sidhu Moose Wala earned widespread exposure in 2017 thanks to the success of 'So High,' a gangsta rap collaboration with Canadian producer Byg Byrd.
